I have spent hours following all your step by step instructions, setting up API’s, keys, secondary email addresses, etc, and nothing at all seems to make any difference, for a huge company like Amazon to come out with a plugin like this, is seriously disappointing. Any advice, information that can be followed without needing a degree in Server design would be really appreciated. Holding back on my review so far as feel that this could potentially be a huge plugin when working correctly.

  • Could you elaborate what exactly “nothing” is that is working?

    How far did you get?

I understand that it can be frustrating in the beginning, as the documentation leaves a few things to be desired and the overall process of getting started is somewhat complicated, but quite a lot of people got it working. So in principle everything is doable.

To be able to help, you need to provide some more detail.

    Cheers,
    Sascha

Thank you for getting in touch.

I downloaded the plugin, created an account, which I have had the accepted email, I have done the secondary email, I have set up the policies, created users, setup the api’s, basically I have followed every setup guide, step by step, and followed all the instructions exactly, but whenever I try to use the plugin I keep getting an error message “Your AWS Access Key Id is not registered as an Amazon Associate. Please verify that you are registered as an Amazon Associate in respective locale and you added the email address registered for the Product Advertising API as a secondary email address in your Amazon Associates account.” Any idea what it is that I’m doing wrong, or something that I might have missed, as I have gone through the steps 3 times now with still no luck.

    Thanks

    Andy

Did you use the root user in conjunction with the AWS key ID, or did you use one of the child users created after that?

That was my mistake, too. There was no hint in the documentation and everything looked like I needed a certain child user for the AWS, but in fact you have to use the root user for that.

    Cheers,
    Sascha

    Dear @andytbiz,

Sincere apologies for the delayed response. Please try out the following & share the results with us:

    • Using your access key & secret key credentials, please check if you can get results from ItemSearchAPI on Product Advertising API scratch pad. (Don’t forget to set the marketplace at the top to the one you are registered as an associate.).
    • If above gives an error message, follow the troubleshooting procedure link in the error message shown on PAAPI scratch-pad and share the results with us.
