Nothing Translating

I am confused. I don’t see anything translating other than the title of the widget box?
I have gone through the translation settings, completed the translate now process, added the widget and when I select the Italian in the widget dropdown, I see as status bar as though something is translating. Then, the page just remains in English.

I am very confused, seems like the installation is very simple, so I’m not certain what the problem is.
