Hey @agnivohneb,
At our end, we can upload .asc files (with or without this plugin) with no issues.
Useful Tips:
- WordPress (natively) supports .asc files.
- When using this plugin, use the following parameters for .asc files: File Type: .asc | MIME Type: text/plain | File Description: ASCII Plain Text
- Your issue may be related to the forms plugin you’re using to upload your files (not this one). For example, if using Gravity Forms, you need to allow the uploading of .asc files by adding “asc” to the “Allowed file extensions” field within the form’s File Upload settings.
The above should fix your issue. In the future, it would be great if you gave the developers of this plugin (or any other) a chance to help solve your issue (via Support Topic) before rushing to judgement and giving them a 1-Star review.
This plugin rocks. It works like a charm. We have been using it for more than two years.
Best wishes!
Hey @agnivohneb
Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us.
I’m glad @generosus could jump in and help. It sounds like he has has covered it all and those extra tips should help to fix the issue.
If you’re still having trouble after trying those suggestions, don’t hesitate to reach out by opening a new post! We’re all here to help, and sometimes it just takes a fresh pair of eyes.
And, about that review – we understand frustrations can run high sometimes. If @generosus’s tips fix things, would you consider revising your review? It can be a huge help for developers to get fair feedback.
No worries either way, but just throwing it out there! All the best getting those .asc files uploaded.
Thank you!
Hey @agnivohneb
I wanted to let you know that we have released version 1.4.0 of File Upload types that comes with an intuitive drag and drop uploader that you can use the automatically detect the MIME type. This might be useful in case the ASC file are still reporting errors during upload.
Thank you!
