We’ve been working on improving our website SEO and had this installed but it hasnt been a very helpful tool. The “instant indexing” feature doesnt seem to work “instantly” and overall the entire plugin just has a bad user experience compared to other SEO plugins. Our developer recommended this plugin and added it to our site and maybe it works well if you are a dev but for a small business trying to make SEO work has not been easy with this plugin when doing the front end and actually making pages on the website. Maybe this is a great tool for consultants to run a report and show a client “all the issues” in terms of SEO and get a big contract to do SEO work… but practically trying to actually optimize pages, indexing, site maps etc all seem to be very difficult with this plugin 🙁

Thanks for taking the time to write this up, and I am sorry it has been a rough experience.
Instant Indexing pings the engines instantly, but they still crawl when they want, and Google only supports its API for job postings and live videos. Two things to check anyway in SEO > Instant Indexing: automatic submission is off by default, and your key file (example.com/YOUR-KEY.txt) has to load in a browser, otherwise Bing rejects everything.
On the rest, I need specifics to act. Which page builder do you use, which screens lost you, and what is failing with your sitemap? Two or three concrete examples and I will fix what can be fixed. In the meantime, the setup wizard covers the basics, and you can switch off any feature you do not need from the SEO dashboard to shrink the interface.
