So PopUp Maker is working well. Except all Authors have access to the Popup Maker menu including creating new pop ups. How can we disable Authors from accessing Popup Maker functionality? We are running User Roles already but don’t see this inside.

  • Hello @mealto:

The solution to your problem is probably going to be in the configuration of the User Roles plugin.

It’s been 2 years since I activated that plugin, and I have a dim memory that the Admin UI was overly complex and took a long time to configure to get the desired result.

Popup Maker does not provide support for the User Roles plugin. We do strive to integrate with other popular plugins where it’s appropriate to do so.

I would like to refer you to a different plugin for managing roles and capabilities on your site. It’s the Members plugin developed by Justin Tadlock. The Admin UI is straightforward to configure and aligns entirely with the WordPress Roles API. I remember when I set it up 2 years ago on another site, the entire configuration process took me about a quarter of the time that User Roles did, and the results were precisely what I wanted.

Changing roles and capability plugins will probably be an easier go of it to resolve your issue.

That sounds like a great plugin. Yes, the User Role plugin is overly complex like the Drupal role administration screen. Thanks.
