Not Easy, Just Bossy!

    I don’t normally leave bad reviews because I realize that developers have made something available for free.

    But, because I had bought a different product that these developers sell, I am evidently on a mailing list from which they like to “upsell” to their customers. So the email I received told me that this is “the best WordPress contact form plugin.” So I took a look — and wished I hadn’t bothered.

    Sorry, but it isn’t the best WordPress contact form plugin. Not even close. It’s just bossy. First, you have to choose what sort of form you want to create. I have no idea why. Four of the six options aren’t available anyway, so selecting them just wastes time. And the Contact Form option is so minimal, it makes no difference anyway. Another waste of time.

    Whichever option you select leads to some thinking time for the plugin and then to an edit screen which bears no relation to regular WordPress at all. So now it’s telling me I can’t have an interface in a color scheme that I chose, but only in theirs! More bossiness!

    Then we get to how to set out the boxes. Want the Last Name box below the First Name box? Sorry, no dice!

    Honestly, what an irritant. If you want to see how a simple forms plugin should work, use PlanSo. This one doesn’t cut it.

    Thank you for sharing your honest feedback. I really appreciate it.

    It is a tough balance to keep the WordPress UI while trying to solve the goal we have “Make Forms Easy”.

    We are going in the direction of decisions over options since often options are confusing for novice users.

    But in the process, I definitely understand that we will not be able to please everyone.

    I appreciate your time for trying out the plugin, and I hope you give us another shot in the coming months as we add new features.
