Not able to select the wordpress database
-
Ok I have tried to troubleshoot & search for the answer to this question prior to asking. But I’m fed up now!
I’m getting the following error message.
“Can’t select database
We were able to connect to the database server (which means your username and password is okay) but not able to select the wordpress database.
* Are you sure it exists?
* On some systems the name of your database is prefixed with your username, so it would be like username_wordpress. Could that be the problem?”I have tried putting the username before the “wordpress”
I have been into MySQL admin panels and checked that the database exsists.
I have checked the passwords even though its says “which means your username and password is okay”
I have changed the index.php permissions to 666.
I have deleted the directory and re-uploaded it to make sure that all files had transfered properly.
I am trying to install the wordpress package into http://blog.mydomain.com.
My hosting company is “Media Temple” which uses “phpMyAdmin 2.6.0-pl3”.
Please can someone help me? I have been fooling with this for the past 6 hours.
Thanks, >>B.Val<<
