Try logging out, and then log back in fresh?
If that doesn’t work, clear your browser cookies for that site.
The plugin doesn’t do anything as far as permissions go, it should work if you’re logged in as the Administrator role.
Oh, you could also try logging in in an Incognito (private browsing) window, see if that works. If so, it points to a corrupt cookie issue.
Also, try a different browser, and if works, that also points to a browser cache or cookie issue.
Thanks for your quick reply. I had tried logging out and logging back in previously and that didn’t work. I just now tried logging in with a browser that hasn’t logged into this site before and I got the same permissions error. I can got into the Settings page for any other plugin but it won’t let me into the Settings page for this plugin. Very strange. Any ideas?
Hmm, it’s using the General Options form (options-general.php) so that should work.
You can view this page ok?:
http://www.milehighmamas.com/wp-admin/options-general.php
But not this page?:
http://www.milehighmamas.com/wp-admin/options-general.php?page=firss_settings
Only other suggestion is to try it with the latest version of WP 3.8.1, and a default theme like Twenty Fourteen, it’s working for me in a fresh installation… there could be a permissions or role plugin issue causing weirdness perhaps.
Yes, I can view the milehighmamas.com/wp-admin/options-general.php but not the options-general.php?page=firss_settings. Should the value actually be firss_settings with double ss? If so then I’ll try a different theme but I can’t see how that would affect a Dashboard page.
Yes that’s the right page… stands for featured image rss.
Not sure how the theme would, but who knows, maybe a plugin?
If need be, send me an admin login via email rob at webwizards.net, perhaps we can enable debug logs and see what’s going on more.
