Not a developer, can't change navbar image

    So here’s the thing, I started at this company
    (www.jewelleng.ca) and they asked me to update the website. I learned some html and CSS and got the page looking how I want when I want it to go live. The problem I’m having is that they wanted me to replace the “News” section with a “Team” section. The nav bar along the top is, as far as I can tell from inspecting the element, a .gif that I can’t seem to replace.

    Specifically it’s called n_news.gif. I went searching for the image and found it in my file manager under //public/img/_vti_cnf/. Here’s where it gets weird. The image itself when you double-click it to view I get a warning that says “Wrong header or image contents is empty!”

    If you go to http://www.jewelleng.ca/img/n_news.gif you can see the image just fine though. I downloaded it, edited it, and uploaded and overwrote the old one. I cleared my cache and reloaded the website and nothing. And if you go to the image directly via url like above, it still shows the old version.

    I don’t know if WordPress is running on the site but I looked up _vti_cnf and everything I read pointed to WordPress.

    There are two folders which have that image. You don’t want to replace the image in //public/img/_vti_cnf/n_news.gif, but the one in //public/img/n_news.gif.

    So that’s what I thought was weird. There’s no n_news.gif in the img folder. There’s an h_news, but I can view it and it’s on a different part of the current news page.

    I just uploaded n_news.gif to public/img just in case and it said file uploaded fine, but n_news still isn’t listed in the folder. I appreciate the help and suggestion though!

    Also @andrew, thanks for determining that for me, I wasn’t sure since all the web searches I did on the vti_cnf thing talked about WordPress. I was trying to avoid asking Revue cause they’ll likely want money, but at this point it’s probably smarter doing that and have it just done quickly rather than wasting my wages trying to figure it out. Thank you too!

    Here’s an image of the file manager. This is as far as the list of files goes down. All of these image files are viewable too, unlike the ones in the vti_cnf folder. http://i.imgur.com/worE11I.jpg

    Edit: Annnnnnnnd I’m a moron in too big of a rush. Did not notice the pages thing at the top. Now I can see n_news in public/img. I replaced the file, cleared the cache again and now it works. Thank you thank you thank you!

    The upload must have worked because I just took a look at the image in:
    http://www.jewelleng.ca/img/n_news.gif
    And it now reads Team (try refreshing your browser cache). And Team is now in the menu bar (although kinda more bold than the other menu items).

    Yeah I just finally noticed there’s pages of files at the top of the manager. I feel like such an idiot, haha.

    Thanks for checking it out for me! Now maybe I should update the other ones so they look crisper, or blur mine down a bit.

    You all rock for helping even though it wasn’t a WordPress site. <3
