This plugin is a no-brainer! I was fiddling around with all kinda old school – simple – favicon generators. This plugin generates everything you need out-of-the-box. Absolutely recommended.

With some upgrades of WordPress, the installation of the this wonderful plugin might get depricated. A simple regeneration of the series of favicons does the trick.
