Deactivate all plugins, change your theme to the default theme, and run the upgrade again. If you upgraded from a fairly old version of WordPress, then you should upgrade in steps. eg. 2.6.5 -> 2.7 -> 2.8 -> etc.
deactivate the athualpa theme by activating default theme
test site
reactivate athualpa

deactivated all my plugins. Upgrade(tool) only shows one possible update: up to 2.8.5 and this don`t work 🙁
do you know how to run the upgrade again? (manually??)

My ‘old’ theme still works fine 🙁
history what i did:
-first I installed athualpa, changed a lot….(brilliant theme)
-than I made an AUTO-upgrade (which run fine).
bfa_comments seems to be an additional athualpa comment “tool”
I tried both (sidebar) comments and bfa_comments. both don`t work

done!!! it works.
four steps:
– set default plugin
– deactivate all plugins
– rename folder atahualpa (f.e. ori_atahualpa )
– copy atahualpa again into theme folder
