This is the result of the theme being responsive and should it have shown the sidebar, it would have been on the top of the content which generally is not a nice experience.

These kind of customizations are left up to you. You can easily register a new sidebar.

i’d also love to get the sidebar to appear for iPad and landscape view of phone… but how do I do that? Im a newb and if I could just get a copy/past instructions?
