I see a place where the comments should be open:
http://loch-ness.org/blog/?p=17#respond
Though I have to register to post a comment.
Is there a specific page you are having problems with?
Typically the comments will be on blog posts, not necessarily the pages, like the about page you have for an index to display when someone goes to /blog
Yes, but how do I allow you to register and post?
Posting and commenting are 2 different things!
And as for registration? Why would you force people to register just for commenting on your blog?
Go to admin > Settings > General and under Membership uncheck the “Users must be registered and logged in to comment” box.
Go into your settings:
/blog/wp-admin/options-general.php
Are both “anyone can register” and “Users must be registered and logged in to comment” both checked?
That is good. I can now let people comment. If I want them to register though, how do I do that? If I check both the “anyone can register” and the “users must be registered” will that make people register and have passwords?
will that make people register and have passwords?
To be more precise, that will require people to register – but not sure that it will make people to register. I never register to any blog just for posting a comment. So, you might chase away visitors who otherwise would comment on your blog.
Technically, yes, by registering they would show up in your admin > Users panel and they would get a password emailed to their address when registering.
Many thanks for all that help. Not asking for people to register for this blog, but there may be need in the future for an in-house facility.
Cheers.
