• I ran the firewall configurator. It came back and said I had to append to my php.ini file. I cannot locate that file. Your docs say to edit the cPanel PHP Variables, but that option is not there, either.

What file or where do I append the line of code?

    Hi,

Can you tell me which option is pre-selected if you go to the firewall setup page?

Also, do you have any other security plugins installed? It normally shouldn’t be necessary to set it up manually on a GoDaddy site, so there may be something else stopping the setup from working normally.

So I don’t see a firewall setup page. I ran the configurator when it was offered. It chugged along for a couple seconds, then came back with that requirement. If I click on Firewall, it says its in Learning mode, and below that I have rules and such to select or not

Do you have the “Click to configure” button at the top of the page anymore?

If the button is gone, then setup should be successful — on some hosts, there is a cache that keeps the changes from going into effect immediately, which might be why you saw the setup page again. There should be a temporary notice with a red bar when that happens, but it might blend in with other admin notices.

Hi WFMattR, what do I do in a case where for example with dreamhost all of my sites share a .php/5.6/phprc file how do I add all sites to one php ini?

    Thanks,
    Paul

@modiphier: Can you make a new post for your question using the form at the bottom of the Wordfence forum here? You might not need to modify php.ini if the site can create .user.ini and have it processed, and it resolving it will probably be different from the issue above.

Please include a link to this post in your new post, too. Thanks!

ah Thanks Matt. I apologize for jumping in but I was searching for the same title thread and similar circumstance.. I did see a user.ini file in a folder or two but I am having various issues with a number of hosts and how ini file is setup or not set for that matter..
