They are set to nofollow as this is a general recommendation from an SEO perspective, as otherwise it is mass outbound links to Social Media which is generally recommended to be nofollow. Should you wish to change this you can do so adjusting the Template of the plugin. You can find information on how to use a Custom Template here. You would need to edit the item.php file.
