I am quite new to websites and do not know all the correct term yet.

My site was perfect till this morning, first thing I notices when creating a new post was that my post “body” was overflowing the containing area – as if the row was streched. My menu is at the left as a sidebar. The post area covered half the menu area and the menu was not visible anymore. I used Classic Editor for that post. I had to edit with VC to get it fixed.

The next thing – while i was helping a subscriber who was having the same problem – my top menu bar and sidebar with dashboard disappeared. I have to go to any post and select the edit option for me to have access to the dashboard.

And then my sidemenu on my site started to stretch down – the space between the top of the menu and my logo growing bigger and my logo stretching out of proportion.

I’ve logged in with 2 different Admin ID’s at Chrome and Opera and the results are the same.

When I viewed the site in the browsers before logging in – it looked almost normal – but as soon as I logged in the top stretched down again.

    Please help. Thank you.

Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via SFTP or FTP, or a file manager in your hosting account’s control panel (consult your hosting provider’s documentation for specifics on these), navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).
