    Hi there,

I installed the update and now i cannot do a database backup anymore. Basically it does nothing. I have another site where your plugin works fine. In another thread I saw a log but I dont know how to get one for you.

Before the update to the new version (with the new design and stuff) it all worked fine.

    Thank you for your help!

    Kind regards,

    Sabine

    Hi @boesebiene,

    Thanks for reaching out.

When you click the Backup Now icon on the job card itself (not the button at the top), does the page just refresh or does anything else happen?

Also, please check if any log is being created. You can find it here: Advanced Settings → Logs → Access Logs. If there is an error listed there, that will help us understand what is blocking the backup.

Let me know what you see and I’ll guide you from there.

    Hi,

    thank you for your help!

It happens nothing when I start to create a Backup immediately. There is no different behavior between the Job Card itself or the Backup Now Button.

    Protocols say:
####/wp-content/uploads/backwpup-####-logs ist nicht innerhalb von open basedir, bitte benutze ein anderes Verzeichnis.

which means your plugin does not have the permission (open basedir) in this folder. well, how can I fix that? On my other websites its all fine with your plugin and I thought its all configured in the same way.

    Thank you!

    Kind regards,

    Sabine

    Hi@boesebiene,

    Thanks for the update.

This issue happens when the open_basedir restriction on the server blocks BackWPUp from accessing the temp or backup directory. When that happens, the backup looks like it does nothing.

Please share this exact error with your hosting support and ask them to allow the BackWPUp directory inside the allowed base dir path so the plugin can read and write files normally.

Once they fix the open_basedir rule, the backup should start working again.

Let me know how it goes.

    Hi,

thank you! So I wrote to the hosting support and they say the given path does not exist. I should change the path in your BackWPUp Plugin because then it would work.

The guy thinks that I implemented the site locally and copied it later to the server. This given path is some old residue of that.

Well its true, initially I did that. Years ago.

I don’t know where I could change that.

So you have some ideas? Or is the information wrong?

but i did the same with the other websites which run ok

    Hi @boesebiene,

Yes, it’s possible the old path is still stored. The easiest way to reset it is:

Deactivate BackWPUp, delete the plugin, then install it again and create a fresh job.

This clears old settings and forces the plugin to use the correct path.

Let me know how it goes.
