NextGen Gallery not working inside a Shadowbox window

I might be going about this the wrong way, but I have a site that’s using Shadowbox to display a blog post. It’s a one-page site and the post is used as a “more info” box that will contain a slideshow and info about that project.

I’m using NextGen and the problem I think I’m having is that the slideshow is breaking (a Javascript thing?) giving me just a never-ending loader and text that is no longer styled.

I’ve tried other image gallery plugins and they all don’t work either, and I REALLY like NextGen. But does anyone have a suggestion on how to get NextGen to work inside a shadowbox or what other solution I could use to achieve this? I want it to be easy to add images and create a slideshow as if it were for a client.
