Nextgen gallery Lightbox is not working

    Hi,

    I have installed nextgen gallery a few moths ago and created a gallery. At the time, the lighbox worked well.

    I just came back to site again to add another gallery and the lightbox is not working. The slideshow is not working either.

    I also have added an album with two galleries. When I click on one gallery I go to that gallery page with thumbnails but when clicking on one image, the page reverts back to the album page.

    – Even though I have a custom theme, if I switch to a default theme such as twentyfifteen, it doesn’t help.
    – I deactivate the plugins and still nothing.
    – I have updated all plugins including Nextgen.
    – I cleared the cache and reset the plugin and still nothing.

    BTW, in my gallery other options->lightbox effect, I don’t have any advanced settings with fields for codes and url! I am not sure why it is missing, or could it be somewhere else?

    I would appreciate an insight to this. I prefer make the nextgen work well as it should and always did rather than adding extra plugin to make the lightbox works. But if that is the only solution, please make the process clear if I have to add a code here and there.

    @wordpressme2 – Your references point to you using a relatively older version of the plugin prior to updating, we have since removed the “Advanced Settings” you referenced and replaced them with a “Custom” Lightbox Effect option as more effective.

    As to the other issues, it would likely be much easier to suggest any troubleshooting ideas if we were able to see them first-hand.

    Yes, the advanced setting must have been in the older versions than mine, that’s why I don’t see them now!
    However, I can’t figure out why none of lightbox effects work on my site.
    I just found out Nextgen on my other site is not working either. The lightbox is gone! These two sites are on different servers. One is on dreamhost and one on Godaddy. So the server shouldn’t be an issue either.
    So I had to replace Nextgen with Foogallery on both sites. One site still needed an additional jquary lighbox plugin to make Foogallery work. (Nextgen didn’t even work with the help of jquary lightbox plugin).
    So my mystery still continues. If you would like to look at the problem for the sake of your plugin improvement I can give you the access to the site. Let me know.

    @wordpressme2 – We would be happy to look at your site if you were still using NextGEN Galley … if you have chosen to move to a different gallery then there may be nothing we can do to further troubleshoot the issue you were seeing.
