NextGen Gallery and Permalinks

    Can someone please give me an example how permalinks work with nextgen gallery? What I am trying to do is have a single thumbnail in a post that acts as a placeholder to the gallery [slideshow].

    I was thinking about inserting a single image and then have it point to the gallery.

    If I have:
    album: photos
    gallery: nyc

    How would my structure need to be so I can get a permalink
    http://www.mysite.com/photos/nyc

    It does not have to be as above, any permalink could work. Or is there a better way of doing what I need?
