    I’ve updated to WordPress v5 and the News Post editor still is the classic editor. Is there any way to change this to use the Gutenberg editor?

    In case anyone else is looking to do this, I was able to modify the plugin to get this working. Just be aware that by modifying the plugin, these changes could get overwritten if the real author does an update and does not include this modification.

    File to edit: includes/sp-news-post-type.php

    Insert the following line between lines 43 (‘supports’) and 44 (‘taxonomies’):
    ‘show_in_rest’ => true,

    The next time you go to create a news item or edit an existing one, you will be shown the Gutenberg editor.

    Please update the plugin to v4.1.1 where have added apply_filters to update the plugin post type argument. For more details, please check News pluign FAQ section : Q- How to provide Gutenberg editor support for News Posts?

    Thanks! I’ve updated and it’s all working now. I have found another issue though, I’ll create a new post for that.
