Newly created WordPress Account. How do I edit?
-
Disclaimer: I’m sorry. I appreciate your help. I’ll try really hard to orient myself without being a burden to the community.
My husband just took the plunge and created a WordPress account. That nuked all of our websites, which is a really big deal. He’s trying to get me on board – he WANTS my input and he wants me to provide the content.
But he’s put in the time setting it up and wants to rest this weekend. I’m keen to get something up & running. So far, all we have is a page with links to empty pages.
I want to add the pages but the Home Page I’m viewing doesn’t look like anything described in the WordPress documentation. I don’t see any menus or administrative navigation at all – just the “site” itself, as if I’m a visitor, not an administrator.
The web address he gave me to access the account is http://www.<ourwebsitename>.com/<123website>/
Please, can you help me start out by suggesting how I can find the navigational stuff? As I say, once I have that, I’ll RTFM (read the docs) and try to manage from there. But at this stage, I don’t have a point of reference. I know he worked hard to start the WordPress account but I don’t know what that entailed or where we are in the handy WordPress process flowchart.
Much appreciated. You can’t imagine how much appreciated. I just want to get a few pages up – even just add our contact info to the home page, so we have our contact information available.
Thanks.
