Newbie Question about multiple sites…

Hello,

I’m very interested in using wordpress but i need to know something first. From my provider i get php support and ONE mysql database!

The site now is really hosting two sites… for instance
The main site is at http://www.mydomain.nl and de second is in http://www.mydomain.nl/othersite.

Is it possible to use wordpress twice at the same domain?

I’ve read that you can install wordpress in the ‘root’ of your domain or for instance in http://www.mydomain.nl/blog….

But do i need separate databases or can i use 1 database for multiple sites?
