Hi Joyce,
Can you tell me what they see when they can’t login? An error message of some kind?
Regards,
Mark.
Thanks for getting back to me quickly.
I was unavailable for a while, so I wasn’t able to find out what the problem was on the user’s end. In the mean time, my site got another problem and it was causing my error logs to go into a loop, with “PHP Fatal error: Out of memory” for all of my plugins. My server’s support checked into it and said it was code in the .htaccess file. They removed a lot of code that was all put there by Wordfence. One of them was:
RewriteRule \/*([^\/]*)\/*([^\/]*)\/*([^\/]*)\/*([^\/]*)\/*([^\/]*)(.*)$ "/wp-content/wfcache/%{HTTP_HOST}_$1/$2~$3~$4~$5~$6_wfcache%{ENV:WRDFNC_HTTPS}.html%{ENV:WRDFNC_ENC}" [L]
What was that supposed to do? Could that cause any problems? Why does Wordfence need to write to the .htaccess file?
Your host told you that your out of memory error was caused by an .htaccess rule? I recommend you find another host because they don’t know what they’re talking about.
Tell them to upgrade your memory because it’s too low to run your WordPress site.
Regards,
Mark.
You didn’t answer my questions about the code. Also, the memory issue was apparently an infinite loop.
