• Hello everyone,

Regarding the default email WordPress sends out when a new user registers, the email they get has two links in it. One with the key to activate their account and one with a general wp-login.php link.

Just wondering, what is the purpose of the second link? Isn’t it likely for a user to click on the second one instead and then get confused as to what to do?

    Thanks.

  • Hallo there 🙂

That is more suitable for discussion on a Trac ticket:
    https://core.trac.wordpress.org/newticket
While people can express their opinions on support, it isn’t actionable here, as all code changes to WordPress core happens on Trac.

Trac tickets are much more likely to get attention if they have a problem and a proposed solution.
So, in this case, the problem would be that it appears likely that users may be confused by the presence of two links in the activation e-mail and the proposed solution would be to remove the second link.

    All the best 🙂
