• I am a web developer but I am new to wordpress. I took a wordpress file for a client to look at , the company restricted there ability to edit their webpage and they have almost 0 control.

    The webpage is
    http://www.trendsetterz.ca

What file and how can I give them full access to edit their site?

And if I wanted to add my own code to the site how can I do so?

Sorry if stupid questions but I create my cms systems myself and never used a program like wordpress.

    Thanks

  • See the Codex for information about WordPress. To add your own code you can use a plugin or a child theme, or both. The Codex has information on how to do it.

How to give access to edit the site depends on what access you have. Can you log in to the site? If so, are you an administrator? Alternatively, can you access the database directly?

The admin user they have is limited, and I have all the web files in a disc so I’m assuming yes the database is in there

Quite an assumption! If someone only copied the files, then the contents of the database will not be among them. In any case, you need access to the live site to change it.

Ok so what if I put this site live on my test server?

I can also get access to the actual live site from the company.
