Is this happening on the full post or are you seeing this on your homepage for example – with a list of posts? If the latter then it’s likely the way the theme is displaying the posts and there should be a setting to change that (probably in theme settings/options depending on your theme).

Thank you. I checked and it’s only in Visual view. This should resolve it (I hope!).
This didn’t resolve it. It just caused different lines to be dropped.
Is this only happening in the editor or are you seeing this same thing on the front-end?
Try deactivating all plugins and testing this out again. If that doesn’t help then try activating a different theme. One of those two things should help narrow down the issue.
The Visual view often strips out special characters and HTML Code. Doesn’t explain why you can’t type it in though. It might be a conflict with a Plugin especially those that add icons to the TinyMce editor in Visual Mode.
I deactivated the plugins; no change.
Now when I go to ‘Appearance’ and select ‘themes’, I get a pop-up that says this: “The changes you made will be lost if you navigate away from this page. Are you sure you want to leave this page?” If I select ‘leave this page’, the site closes. Previously I could switch around and make changes on my site.
This last time, it didn’t close the site. Maybe disabling the plug-ins solved that problem.
The problem with dropped sentences now appears to be resolved. Thank you very much. Changing the theme seems to have done the job.
Good deal. You can either find a new theme you like or reach out to the theme author (from previous) theme and report those issues.
