Apparently due to new legislation we need to allow users to decide which cookies they want to confirm by individual grouping (functional/advertising etc..) Rather than just bulk acceptance.

At the moment we have the option to accept all or reject all only on the live site.

I have tried adding the “cookie settings” shortcode as I guessed this might allow us to do this.

When I test this on staging, the button appears but a blank white pop up appears when pressed.

Is this the right approach here? Am I missing a step to fill this bit out? I’ve had a look and can’t find a doc for this bit.

What we want is the option for the user to select which categories of cookie they want to explicitly approve or reject?

    many thanks

    Marcus

I have seen this doc which seems to be what we are after: https://www.cookieyes.com/documentation/google-consent-mode-v2-integration-with-cookieyes-wordpress-plugin/

However the instructions say to go to the web app and make changes there but when i go i get this message instead:

Connected via “GDPR Cookie Consent” plugin
View your cookie list, scan history, consent report, and other details in the plugin’s admin panel.

Do we need the paid plugin to activate this functionality or is it available on the free version?

    Hi @freakency,

    Greetings from CookieYes!

You are on the legacy version of our plugin, which is connected to CookieYes for scanning only.

You can migrate it to the revamped version by referring to this thread. After migration, you can connect to CookieYes and then implement Google consent mode V2 by referring to this documentation.

This feature is available on the free plan itself.

I have it working on staging but not live.
    Live is connected to app.
We have GCM button turned on in app.

Both have plugin added and configured. Both have script in header.

Neither have additional GTM script (we are not using Tag on either).

Does live need GTM script (step3) as the live domain is set up at Google or is there another reason the customise button is not showing on live?

Solved it. It was toggled off on live on the button setting. It defaulted on on the staging.

All working. many thanks for your help
