Sidebar Help Please….

I’m trying to add something onto my site. I have that sidebar on the left and I’m not using it so it’s blank. Is there a way to remove it? I’d like to use some of that space but can’t seem to do so

I would try removing this code from the theme you are using..

<?php get_sidebar();?>

Then it should not show up at all.. I think it’s on more than one page though in which ever theme you are using..

I’ve removed many of them under theme editor under ‘Fishy’ theme files. Is there other place to remove it as well to get this to work right?

probably one in your footer.php

I removed that 1 as well as about 4-5 others there as well. Nothing changed yet

you could always open the sidebar.php and delete everything inside it.

Do you want the existing content to expand to fill the area where the sidebar used to be?

Or do you want to plop some other content where the sidebar was?

checking your .css file…

your problem is that your “content” div is floated right and width 550 px. if you want the div to fill the “wrapper” div just remove those two lines.

I think that should fix it

Yep, whistler wasn’t just whistling dixie. you can remove the width indicator from #content altogether. Or substitute width: auto;

What section do I go into to do that whistler?

Be sure the current or desired theme is selected and edit the stylesheet (style.css) file.
