    Hi,
first of all: Thanks a lot for the plugin that works good most of the time. However, it was a very bad idea (from the user’s point of view) to change the filename convention for the backups. I’ve just checked the backup archives and found double sets of backups, since the old backups (with my custom filename) were not deleted. This doubles the needed space on the server and will easily exceed the available space on, say, free dropbox accounts. Now I have to delete the old archives manually. Not very nice!

  • Hi @mkj2,

Sorry for any inconvenience happened to you 🙁
BackWPUp new version uses the different naming convention for backup files. So you need to manually delete older backup files. Once the old backups files are deleted manually, all others should be managed properly by this plugin.

    Hi there

Just like MKJ2, I’ve experienced same issue with old backup’s Using up Dropbox space.

I did a clean up, but now I am wundering why my dropbox folder contains more than the 6 files i’ve specified for my daily backup (7 files with the new naming convention).

The file name differs only on the last datestamp part (backwpup_[uniqueId]_Daily_%Y%m%d)

    Rgds Peter

Hi @petker, this was a bug some users have been experiencing, which has been fixed for the next release.
