New Events show a 404 error

Working on a site for a client:
Theme: WordPress 5.8.1 running Scientia Child Theme theme.Since I updated the plugin, every new event previewed or published gives a 404 error. I have tried the steps here:

– Changing permalinks several times did not help.
– Changing themes did not help.

I managed to fix the problem.
1) I deleted all the new problematic events I had created which were showing 404 errors.
2) I also unchecked the “Activate Block Editor for Events” option too which disables the Gutenberg editor:
Events > Settings > General Settings
