Nested Taxonomies?

Is there a way to create nested taxonomies in WCK Taxonomy Creator? Under Advanced Label Options there’s a ‘Parent Item’ field and a ‘Parent Item colon’ field. Is this to list the parent taxonomy? If so how should it be formatted? I’m very new to taxonomies.
