Need to reinstall theme

    I need to reinstall a theme that seems to be corrupted. If I change over to one of the basic themes, delete the one in questions (Avada) then re-upload it I think it will work.

    My question is, will I loose all the theme customization that I’ve done in the theme options? If so, is there a way to salvage or clone these settings?

    Have you created a child theme for all your modifications?

    If all your modifications are in the parent theme, then be aware that your customizations will be over-written the next time you upgrade.

    For this reason, consider creating a Child Theme for your customizations .

    If the theme options are stored in the database and aren’t deleted by the theme when you deactivate it, then I would expect the settings to be picked up by the reinstallation of the theme. Of course, I would backup first.

    I know this is counter to Tara’s comments, but I believe she’s referring to code customizations whereas you’re asking about options customizations.
