Need to block specific pages

    We are in a transition phase without a webmaster and are needing to temporarily block specific pages on our site that are not current. We tried deleting a page, but can not figure out how to activate that change and see the change when ‘viewing’ the site. Can someone please tell us how to ‘activate’ or ‘publish’ our changes so that they are reflected in the live site. Or if you have a better suggestion on how to block users from specific pages, we would appreciate your input..

    go into the dashboard area to manage pages and change the page status from published to unpublished. that keeps it off the web yet it is still there in your system. it will be treated as if it was a draft
