Need help modifying the main template…

Hello,
New to WordPress. Just switched from Greymatter!

I’ve got everything running, but having a lot of trouble making a post look like I want.

At the bottom, I want it to state the following:

“Posted by Mike Sep 27 2005”

I want this shown in very small font with that particular format for the date.

I can’t get this to work.

Also,
How do I make it to that all entries use Verdana as the font?

Any help appreciated..
