Necessary root files

    Of the 22 files, in the wp-root directory, are at some that I suspect is not necessary. There is one called wp.php that seems to be some sort of ab example file.

    Is there list that shows what files there should be in the root?

    Why are you wanting to remove files ? For what purpose ?
    Knowing this will help us to help you.

    As the old computer man I am, from a time when un-neccessary programs or data files always had to be removed. As files, not necessary, can contain callable codes I am still reluctant to keep files that do not belong there or are not necessary.

    I know that disc space is not the option. My concern is program stability, and of course for my own part just knowing what should and not should be there. In time, when I’ve learnt more about this modernities, I’ll of course know.
