So I’m not sure if this is a theme issue or not, but I thought I would ask.
I just started using adaption using a child theme. After styling some things I noticed that when I clicked on any of the navigation it kind of jumped and all of a sudden the text became a lot larger. I thought it might have to do with one of my styling things, so I removed everything including featured images, logo, etc and started back at 0. no luck. I went to the original parent theme and it worked fine, switched back to the child.. broken. I have tried it in IE and Chrome. It so far works in IE but not chrome.

    Thanks.

  • Hi there, that’s an interesting effect. 😉

Could you please try temporarily turning off all your plugins to see if the problem goes away? If it does, reactivate them one-by-one to find the culprit.

If a plugin isn’t the culprit, I’d suggest removing one file at a time from your child theme to see if something there is causing the issue. Your CSS in the child theme looks pretty basic so I doubt anything there is at fault.

Let me know how it goes.

I figured it out – thanks. I didn’t realize they had updated how to create a child theme. Instead of @import, using wp_enqueue_style() in a functions.php file. Now it works perfectly. Thanks for taking the time to answer.

The @import method of making a child theme should still work fine – even though there are other ways to do it – but I’m glad you’re all set now!
