On my blog page titled: Keeping it clean located here:
    http://allie-jewel.com/keeping-it-clean/

I can’t figure out why I have this “image placeholder” grey box on the page? I can’t determine where it is coming from or how to get rid of it.

I am using the Apprise theme and I’ve also gone to the Blog Options and turned off using a feature image, but this problem is on the page not the post.

  • It seems like the “image placeholder” is displayed since the blog post doesn’t have a featured image.

See if there is a option to turn off featured image on blog page as well.

I went to do what you suggested and I’m looking at the blog post in “edit” and “quick edit” mode both and I’m not seeing what you are suggesting. But then I notice a check mark that just says “Title”. At first I thought this had resolved the problem, but when I relooked at the page, the image placeholder grey square is back.

However (before I found this “Title checkbox” I tried adding a feature image and it put a giant picture above my blog post and the grey image placeholder image was still there anyways.

If you follow the link above and go directly to the blog post, the image is not there. But if you go to the home page of my website and click on the page “Keeping it Clean” the grey image placeholder is still there.

    Thanks

Ok, now I figured it out. The blog setting was set to show an excerpt of the blog posting versus the full posting. When I changed the setting to display full blog posting, the grey image placeholder is gone. Just when you think you find the perfect theme…….Oh well.

    Thank you, resolved
