First of all, what’s your website url?
Then, why should be anything wrong with getting visitors from USA, I suppose that Norwegian speaking people live there as well?
And finally, who visits your website will not affect rankings in any way possible.
Hi,
Thanks for the quick answer.
My website url is mobiltelefon-test.org.
I dont think that all my visitors from USA are Norwegian.
Reason for considering this a problem was originally because my average site time from USA was close to 0, and that i had heard from articles that google analytics matters in rankings.
Is there any way to filter traffic from USA out of analytics?
The speed of your website loading matters. But it matters how fast it loads for Google robots, not for average Joe from somewhere in the world. The bounce rate that a lot of people talking as important is not so, you can find Mat Cutts or other Google employees talking about that.
Regarding Analytics, you can apply pretty much any kind of filter you want in it, you can google for the ways how to, but that will NOT block those visits, just you won’t see them in your website data. If you want, you can actually block those visits (which may actually be bots of some sort) based on their IP or user agent.
Hi,
thanks again for your quick answer.
I really need help for blocking those visits from USA since they are ruining my bounce rate, but wont i block the google bots too if i did this?
Nope, you won’t. Google bots operate from the different sets of IP and with different “user agent” than those “bad bots”.
Hi again,
sorry for taking up so much of your time.
To block the traffic, I sat up IP2Location Country Blocker plugin to only allow norwegian traffic. Will this make any trouble for the google bots?
Just let me know if i did anything wrong.
No probs time-wise. If I drop by to Norway you can buy me a coffee. 😀
Well, it might cause troubles.
I’m not familiar with that plugin, but you should whitelist Google’s bot ranges – https://evert.meulie.net/faqwd/googlebot-ip-ranges/ if it has whitelisting option (it should have).
Those strange looking IPs at the end are IPv6 so you can skip them. 🙂
BTW, I tried accessing your website and got this
Redirect Loop
Redirection limit for this URL exceeded. Unable to load the requested page. This may be caused by cookies that are blocked.
So it looks like the plugin is working. 🙂
