You need to put the number sign in front (e.g., use #_EVENTNAME not _EVENTNAME).
Oh, sorry, I misspelled here. In WordPress I used it correctly as #_EVENTNAME. So that’s unfortunately not the problem …
Go to the Settings page for Events Manager and then go to the Formatting tab Click on Advanced and.make sure Advanced mode is enabled Then click on Events and then under Events List Formats you will see the placeholders are used in the Default event list format, the Default event grid format and in the Default single event format. You can modify these making use of Placeholders.
