The selected status on your main navigation links is a bit difficult to read, from the combination of text colour with background colour of the list item.
How about darkening the background colour to #333 http://awesomescreenshot.com/03fq6ds33 ?

Thanks for the feedback, I played around with the ‘on’ state and went for a lighter option.

I like it allot. The only thing I would suggest adding, (and I have no idea how to do it) would be if you could get the pictures in your three columns to move when you moved your mouse over them.
I don’t know if it’s intentional, or not – but when you view a post, the News section in the Main navigation is no-longer highlighted. You should be able to use the current_page_parent class selector in order to make it active as well 🙂
