• Help please.
I imported all posts on from my old blog. All of them are fine. When I make a new post, comments are off when it is published. Comments are allowed on my settings.
PLUS, when I check the allow comments part on the create post page, after updating the page, the check box becomes unchecked again.
    Thanks

  • Have you tried:

    – deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

    – switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems?

resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin? Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

Ok, I started all over again, installed a new blog with nothing on it.
No plugins- I deleted the ones that comes with installation, and just the twenty ten theme.
Still, when posting the published post automatically turns the comments off.. and as I have mentioned, when I check the allow comments part on the create post page, after updating/publishing the page, the check box becomes unchecked again.

I figured that plugins or themes are not causing the error.. since when all of them was deleted the error still occures.. so I installed the plugin “Post Avatar” The thing is when I select an avatar after posting/updating it also return to “no avatar selected” just like how the checkbox for “allow comments..” becomes unchecked after updating. It’s really weird.

I also figured that if you use “quick edit” and check the allow comments.. it stays put and comments are allowed, but when updated again using “Edit” comments turns off again.. and I don’t want to have the quick edit thing as a solution..

Hi..another update. I got the Post Avatar working if I use the Custom Fields section in Edit Post. It doesn’t work if I use the Post Avatar section. As for the comment problem, I’m using Quick Edit to sole the problem for the mean time. I’m still looking for the cause of this problem and for the solution.
