I want to get a Word Press Plugin. It states I need an API Key. There is no API Key in my welcome letter. There is no API Key in my User Profile. I installed wordpress through Fantastico through my host server Blue Host. I contacted them and they said they have nothing to do with wordpress that I need to contact WordPress. So here I am. Where do I get this API Key since it’s not in the places that it should be? Thanks.
Assuming your talking about the WP Stats Plugin you need to create a free account at wordpress.com You don’t have to create a blog over there but you need an account. (you’ll also need that key to use Akismet anti-spam plugin that comes bundled with WordPress)
I also have a blog uploaded through Fantastico. Its been up for a year. I have NEVER been able to get a key. I did, just as suggested on the forum: registered for a free wordpress account and I was sent a key. However, when I tried to use it for Akisment it said, “invalid key”. I cannot contact wordpress support because the form won’t submit claiming its only for wordpress blogs which is what I have.
Does anyone have the solution?

Hi there, its simple, just log in to your wordpress.com account.
go to your profile.Your API key is in the top left of the page.

The owner of that API Key (penseelibre1) is not on the access list for this blog (4376771). To be added to the access list, you must contact support.
really impossible :
i have had in an another live 2 blogs in .com, then another now hosted. so i have 2 API, and i do not know when i have to use one or another : please 1 API new if you want and only 1 identity enough : the 2 identities
