    on php8 and WP5.6 mums i get this problem into a test installation.
    No way to reset pass for an user. What it return is always the above message.
    No server nor php errors thrown.

    I know that to get an answer, here, about this on 26dec is quite impossible, anyway i will so do not throw an occasion to wish to all of You an happy 2021! … even if it will be also quite hard, due to covidiots.

  • My understanding is the core team is working on PHP 8.0 compatibility but it’s not available yet so you should be using some flavor of PHP 7.X.

    I don’t want to discourage your experimentations with PHP 8.0 though… just don’t consider that for anything ‘production’ until it’s known to be a viable solution.

    Discovering problems and reporting them is the backbone of the upgrade processes.

    Yeah, i agree, i’m constrained to revert back to 7.4, because after all, many php scripts are still throwing too many problems. Tired also to fix these into my test installs.
    My code has been all updated to work fine with php8, so i will revert now to 7.4 the test server because most of the plugins and cms programs are NOT ready for php8.
    I also run into problems with apache and php8, at any level. phpmyadmin, that i use and love, also, presents several issues.
    A nonsense, if not for some test purpose at moment, to switch to php8
