• Hi, Thnx! This has been a great plug-in to use.

    Q: I plan on building a MultiSites network on a localhost and had a few questions b4 I do;

    To migrate from a localhost to a live server, I believe, I would export EACH site on the network separately, then import each site on the live server [after transfering all the files] and next run the plug-in within EACH site starting with the main site from localhost to the the new domain/live-site?

    I just need to know if this is how I would go about it and if migrating a MultiSite network is possible. I’d rather not do the developing on the live-site if I can migrate it this easily as I would with a standard[single] WP site.

    Thnx again!

  • Hey WalkingFish,

    I would be very careful assuming this will work. I have seen in many places that migrating a multisite is 1000x more difficult then migrating a standard wordpress install when the domain name changes. I see that your post is 11 months old — did you try this? how did it go?

    i run several multisite networks of my own, but have been fortunate/careful enough to not have to migrate one to a new domain name. I have read that (depending on how many satellite sites you have) this process can be a massive time drain when it comes to going through each database table and changing urls for each subsite.

    Looking forward to hearing from you on this.

    Sam
