Multisite: Exceptions and Widget Options
-
Hello and thank you for great plugin!
I am using it on Multisite install and have two questions
1. How to disable Ad Inserter block widgets? I am going to define and code blocks directly in a theme files and don’t need no sub-sites to remove widgets.
2. Also very important, is there a way to remove Exceptions Configuration panel in every post backend, dashboard? If there is no easy way, can I hide it completly with CSS?
Thank you very much and keep up the good work

0. Thank you!
1. Currently not possible but I’ll consider adding support for this.
2. Currently it is possible to define Minimum user role for Ad Inserter exceptions editing. But on multisite installation each subsite has it’s own Ad Inserter settings so this doesn’t help much. I’ll consider adding support for multisite.
Regarding “disable Ad Inserter block widgets” I have a question.
What is your proposal, how shoud this work?
If the plugin is Multisite compatible, add a metabox somwhere to Hide Options for Subsites. I am talking from designers perspective, I am not a dev, so this maybe sounds strange.
Anyway, aim is the same. Give Multisite managers a possibility to run your plugin on let’s say 200 subsites but restrict those 200 subsite Administrators (only super_admin) an access to edit options or delete ads.
This way any monetisations network would prosper easily, for example, selling websites as hosted solution with AdSense installed and so on. Just dont give a subsite administrator an option to delete super_admin’s Ads. Because those are free accounts.
Great, thank you!
I’m preparing a new version and would like to add some multisite support.
It’s a shame for a plugin like this not to have it, bravo! If you need anything else, I am here, dealing with exact same project and problems, trying alot of plugins and options. Once you finish, you should really redesign a website 🙂
