If you’ve JUST started with WordPress, I urge you with all the experience of my heart, NOT to jump into Multisite first.

While you certainly can learn it first, it’s jumping into the deep end of the pool right away. Multisite is more complicated and confusing, and requires you to have good file-editing and DB chops before you seriously consider being a Multisite Webmaster.

    This isn’t easy stuff.

Also? You’re on IIS and I can count on one hand the number of IIS experts for Multisite.

WordPress’s sites are virtual, just like the posts and pages of WP. You don’t get folders made for new sites.

ok so how about I copy the wordpress file to a different location so I can run just one site from there?. Can I just copy the files to the folder and be done with it or I need to reconfig the wp-config ?
right now it is in the wwwroot folder I would like to have it in its own folder

also when im try to pull the site up the only page that comes up is the IISStart.htm nothing else.

You would need to configure the wp-config,php to point to another install. You can’t just have the files duplicated like that.

In the most basic terms, you need to have it so that your second domain pulls the content from the first domain.
