Multiple dashboards open

There have been times when I’ve inadvertently opened–in new/separate tabs–multiple instances of the dashboard. I’ve never experienced any nasty consequences as a result, but it doesn’t seem like this is something one would do intentionally…right? Is it inadvisable to make this a regular practice?
