Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback, and we’re sorry the setup experience didn’t feel great. That’s genuinely the last thing we want when someone is just trying to get their emails working.
To clarify what happened: the option to install an additional plugin only appears during our Setup Wizard, and nothing gets installed without your action. As shown in Step 3, each option is clearly labeled with a description, every checkbox can be unchecked before moving forward, and there’s an explicit notice at the bottom of the screen that tells you exactly which plugin will be installed before you click anything.[Screenshot]
The idea behind offering this tool was simply to make it easier to hit the ground running with a popular, well-matched plugin, while always leaving it up to you to uncheck anything you don’t need or uninstall it later if you already have an alternative you prefer.
That said, we completely understand how pre-checked options can feel like something is being pushed on you, and that’s a fair frustration. Your feedback is noted and genuinely appreciated – it helps us make the experience better for everyone.
