• Hello, I would just like to create 3 pages website in 4 languages.
I have researched a bit, but since I don’t have any posts, I don’t need a plugin like polylang. My content are just a few paragraphs, with a bunch of smaller words scattered around. I am creating web in html/css, so I have front-page, page-apartment and page-contact written for english.

Now I need to create similar for 3 other languages. Is the l18n right way to do this? If so, when I finish with po files, how do I switch between languages?
I would prefer to have http://www.web.com/page when languages is eng, and http://www.web.com/es/page and similar for others

  • Why do you want to use a CMS tool like WP ?
Perhaps it is better to create a pure HTML/CSS website w/o CMS, DB in the background 😉

The advantage of well designed (multilingual) plugins are that they help to manage and configure i18n according user’s experience (UX).

    Cheers

Because I want to use plenty of plugins which will save me a lot of time (and a lot of things I still don’t know how to do without those plugins). I just don’t know what is the right (the least painful) approach to create multilingual pages with correct url structure

Sorry to interrupt post but I have been trying to post new topic re multi lingual site and cannot find how to. I have been searching for info for days and it looks like I have two options: Polylang or WPML plug in for WordPress.
I am redesigning a small charity website(I am a volunteer not a techy) Do I have to go for a pay for template to download these plugins or will they work on a free template? Also are any templates already Polylang enabled?
I like a challenge but trying to get answers seems impossible! Thanks
